Author's Bio

Albert Ohams is one of Nigeria’s finest cartoonists. Having graduated from Yaba College of Technology with a Higher National Diploma [HND] in fine arts where he specialized in Painting, he has worked as a cartoonist in various media houses namely Prime people, Vintage people, Quality magazine, Champion Newspapers and presently the Cartoon Editor of Sun Newspapers since 2003. He was the winner of Nigerian Media Merit Award [NMMA] Cartoonist of the year 2000, Diamond Award for Media Excellence [DAME] Editorial Cartoonist 2007 and the best Cartoonist in the BBC organised Budget monitoring training programme in 2007 amongst others. Albert Ohams collaborated with a British author and economist at University College, London, Daniel Roger in the book ‘WATER GET ENEMY’ a graphic novel about governance in Nigeria. He has published his compilation of cartoons, IMPACT OF SERIOUS HUMOUR in 2007 and OHAMS BRUSH in 2014. He was a member of the jury for the 2017 European Union/UN organised comic/cartoon competition on gender equality. He is a member of Cartoonists Association of Nigeria (CARTAN), married and has children.
